S T R E N G T H S + everything BURNS ::: Cara is a mixture of human and demon, a vicious demon know as Krarlux. Ever since she was cursed, she has a demon form. This form is blue skinned as tough as rubber, has retractable claws and black eyes. This form has super enhanced strength, speed, animalistic reflexes and senses. But on top of this, this demon is able to generate vast amount of blue flames from its body, making it fire-proof. In her human form, Cara is able to access a limited amount of her pyrokinetic abilities, because when she is in her demon form she is unable to control herself. + NO-ONE seems to keep ::: Her mother is dead. Her friends are dead. Cara has had to grow up and learn a lot about self-reliance from a very young age. How to look after herself, how to be there for herself and how to know that above anyone else, she is the only one she can count on. Though this might make her a bit of a loner, it also gives her a sense of strength, belief in herself and in her own capabilities, even if she is part predator. + she no longer CRIES ::: There is an amount of pain one can deal with before they break, and luckily for Cara she is a very resilient when it comes to emotional pain. Death, lose, heart-ache, she has experienced it all. It is a strength, to be able to prepare herself and be able to deal with the hardship ahead, and proof that she is strong enough to bounce back from everything that has happened to her. + consumed in her MASQUERADE ::: We all have that perky and loveable side to us, and Cara's is covered in sarcasm and puns. She brings the untimely and often wrongly situated humor to things, mostly to cover up her own fear or feelings or to try and show that she is okay. Cara is built on a facade that she is okay, the humor forms this. But as a strength, it makes her more personable with her humorous side. + my anger REIGNS ::: Cara was originally a potential slayer, prophecised and identified as the next girl in line to become the Slayer. Since she was recognized as this years ago, she was trained in the art of combat and weapons alongside her league of surviving Watchers. During this, she was taught advanced martial arts such as taekwondo and jui-jitsu, and even though she definitely does not have the strength and speed of a slayer, she still packs a punch for such a little girl. + DIARIES of empty pages ::: When you don't have a family, or friends or any kind of shoulder to cry on or talk to, you have to turn somewhere. Instead of drugs or acting out, Cara turned to writing. She will write in a journal every night, and loves to be creative and write stories. Not really practical, but she wants to be a writer, but for now short novels and diary entries were going to have to be good enough. W E A K N E S S E S + i'll BURN it all down ::: Cara's eternal curse; she is a demon. In order to stop her from becoming the next Slayer, Cara was cursed by a powerful witch that made her half demon, which is worse then what it sounds. It also created a second being inside the vessel of her body, where the demon form infact has its own persona, which is destructive and fixated on killing the Slayers. In every generation, one girl is chosen to fight the forces of darkness. But this time one girl is cursed to fight the forces of the Slayer. + all of this PAIN ::: Having a second demonic persona isn't the only bad thing, but in her human form Cara is easily able to get hurt. Physically, she is not enhanced in any way so mortal wounds will kill her as it would any other. But apart of the curse, if Cara gets painfully hurt or experiences a level of physical pain, her demonic side uses a passive pain reaction where uncontrollable amount of flames will errupt from her body, like a defense mechanism. And she hates it. + all FADE away ::: Though a serious force could kill Krarlux, a guaranteed poison for it is the bite of a vampire. One bite, and Krarlux and Cara would be in for a big struggle. If the venom dosage is to high, even though it wouldn't effect a human, it could kill Cara. It is apart of the curse, to ensure the demon did not turn against the vampires but fought alongside them, even though the hunter in her think differently. + burning their LIES ::: Cara has all reason in the world to have trust issues. After what happened, after what happened to her and after what happened to the ones that she loves; letting people in is pretty hard. She can have friends and associates, but to actually let someone in is something different all together. She knows that Krarlux is inside her, she knows it is evil. But she will hide it, and it is something she will never tell anyone. But if she can't tell anyone about one of the biggest things effecting her life; how can she tell anyone anything? + gone a STRAY ::: Three years ago, she was going to college and was going to write her own series of best-selling novels and maybe become a screen-writer; now she doesn't even know what to do with her life. Now she had no family, no goals, no control over her life or what it could be. It is safe to say that Cara is very, very lost. She wants to find her way, but she doesn't even know where to look. + no one CARES ::: Everyone Cara ever loved is dead. Her mother, her council, her first boyfriend. All gone, so being able to open herself up to something even remotely similar to love seems impossible for her. She thinks 'love is just an invitation for more pain', and it doesn't help that being a demon has put it in her mind that no one could ever accept it. She still has her interests in boys and likes to think she could find a guy that would bring out that normal side of her, but at the same time she is hopeless when it comes to relying on her feelings. L I K E S + Guys ::: like every teenage girl, she has her interests in boys + Music ::: they say that music speaks a thousand words, and Cara agrees + Writing ::: putting thoughts in a journal, or even writing for the passion of it + Control ::: when she has control of herself, it is when she is at her happiest + Individuality ::: nothing about Cara is normal, but interesting people are the ones she surrounds herself with. D I S L I K E S + Nightmares ::: they happen often and close together, and she hates them. + Darkside ::: Cara would give anything to be 'her' again, and the demon inside her is shredding her hope. + Horrors ::: life is scarey enough then having CGI crappy thriller effects in her life. + Ignorance ::: crudeness makes her mad, and she isn't the best 'thing' when she is mad. + Vampires ::: they have done nothing good for her so far. H I S T O R Y To each generation, there is one girl in all the world is chosen to fight the forces of darkness.... but now there is one girl chosen, to fight back. Cara Cartwright was born on the 13th of January, in San Francisco to head chef of a prostegious gourmet restaurant, Marley Laurence. Marley was a single mother battling against a nasty break-up with her ex boyfriend and news reporter Stan Cartwright, who chopped both Marley and Cara both up as mistakes and ignored the responsibility he had brought into this world. Marley knew one thing; the beautiful little girl in her arms was far from a mistake. Marley adored her blond and blue-eyed baby so much, and with a stable job she fought to make sure life was good for her little girl. Cara didn't grow up in a large house with everything she wanted, but in a simple apartment in a good part of the city where her mother tried her best to make her happy. And she did. Balancing being a mother and working a full time job was tough, but Marley pulled it off. It wasn't everything she ever wanted, but she never looked back with regrets. She had Cara, and that was all she needed. And Cara definitely wasn't complaining. She was brought up in pink dresses and ballet classes, which turned into diaries from as soon as she could read and write and listening to Michelle Branch. She was a good little girl, and reguardless of her interests her mother was just happy that Cara was, hers. A normal stable life didn't last to long though. On Cara's 8th birthday, her mother decided to throw her a party. It consisted of cake, her friends and family and - vampires. They didn't know why, or how this was happening, but Cara's birthday at a hired-out hall turned into a blood fest. Most of her family got away, but many parents and children were caught in the cross-fire. But the vampires, they weren't there for anyone except for Cara! Marley tried to get Cara away, but when hope looked lost they were saved by a group of people. These British individuals were Christopher; a dashing man who later caught the eye of Marley, Jacinta; a woman skilled in archery and weapon usage, Henry; a professional in perfect martial arts and Charlie; the leader of the group. The Surviving Council; gathered remainders of the Watcher's Council that were killed. And they too had come for Cara, and to save her. Doing so, Cara and Marley got an explanation of what was going on. And they didn't like it. Cara was a potential slayer; a girl with a chance to become a Vampire Slayer; a girl chosen to fight the forces of evil. Both good and evil had searched for Cara because signs indictated from omens and seers that once the present Slayer died, Cara was supposed to become the next slayer. Since vampires know this, they want Cara dead to fight against the calling of the Slayer. But this league of Watchers want to protect Cara and Marley, and train Cara to prepare her for her calling. And that was exactly what they did. It was hard, but Marley eventually packed up there life in San Francisco and travelled to England to live with the league. It was a mansion on the border of London, which was an adjustment to both Marley and Cara. What were they doing? It was at first hard to adjust because Marley was sceptic to everything that was going on, but the Council had no time for it. They had to start training. Cara was trained in demonology, learning about vampire history and demonic species by Chuck. She was trained in martial arts by Henry, which was harder then it seemed but over the years Cara got used to it. Harder was weapon usage, where Cara would have to learn to use crossbows, axes, swords and more from Jacinta. Finally Chris taught her how to also live a normal life. He was the leader, but also like a father figure who enrolled her in a private school in London and helped Marley and Cara out as much as they could. Even more when it came to Marley. Marley ended up falling in love with Chris. Cara didn't mind because Chris was such a great person, trusting and caring and was taking care of them. Eventually, Cara didn't just see these people as trying to help her, she saw them as her family. Jacinta was relatively young and Cara was able to relate to her and look up to her. Henry was the funniest person she met, where she also adopted some humor off of him and Chuck was boring and high-strung, but cares for Cara a lot. When Cara turned 14, things were getting weiry. The Slayer was involed in a tramendous war where preparation that Cara was going to become the Slayer, and the suspense dominated every day until it would happen. Cara was overwhelmed, being only in high school and having her whole life a head of her made things difficult. Soon, she started closing herself off in fear of what would happen. But instead of opening up to the council or her mother, she opened up to a guy. His name was Matt, a boarder at her private school. He was sweet, sensitive and was in fact a Druid with the ability to see the future. Cara was able to open up to him, talk to him about this craziness in her life and he would return the favor to Cara. She was young, but she was finally feeling love for the first time. But soon, there plans changed - and everything was taking a turn to the worst. An old and powerful vampire, unknown to the Council, had a plan. It took place on the 13th of January; on Cara's 15th birthday. The vampires used the darkness of hell, the blood of a slayer and the magic of a group of powerful sharmans to create a curse. This was the curse of the demon; Krarlux. Krarlux was a mixture of demons, crafted into one being of fire and strength. But the curse needed a host, and this host had to be of champion lineage. This host had to be Cara. Before midnight, Cara slept solemnly until she errupted into blue flames. In minutes, the mansion was blazing and luckily the Council vacated as fast as they could; but questions rose on what happened. Cara had been cursed by powerful magics; and it took a while until Matt saw what she really was. Cara wasn't a potential slayer, she wasn't even human. Cara was a demon. Even though she wasn't the Council's saviour anymore, they stuck by her. Cara had to learn how to control her abilities, and even though getting hurt triggers the uncontrollable side of her powers, she still learnt to control them on an active level mentally. Cara also had to learn not to get angry, because no one liked when Cara got angry. It started when there was a vampire attack, and in there new home Marley was held by a group of vampires. When they started feeding off her, a bound Cara fought to break free. When she hit a point of anger, things turned vicious. Cara morphed into a blue skinned demon, whose claws ripped through all the vampires as she saved the day. But then she turned on the Council, who fought her off until a surviving vampire bit her, weakening her to the point that she turned back. Cara knew there was this darkness in her, but she didn't know that something was manifesting inside her. It seemed that the demon side of her, Krarlux, not only had its own face but its own mind. One year ago was the last time she saw Marley, Chris, Chuck, Henry, Jacinta or Matt. Cara went to sleep like any other night, sore from training and kissing her mother goodnight. But when Cara woke up the next day, she was morphed. And more then that; she wasn't Cara anymore. She was Krar, an awakened demonic persona bent on killing, maiming and fighting against good. And inside the house that the people Cara considered her family lived in, Krar attacked. She fought against them and managed to kill Chris, but was injected with a dose of vampire venom by Marley. Cara woke up herself again, and was now dealing with the consequences that she wasn't herself anymore. And that fact scared her. She now lived in her room, but was locked in until she woke in the morning and was let out. Precautions had to be made, because Cara didn't want to hurt anyone. Even if her mother and the others never quite did look at her the same after that. But it was months later that it happened. The Surviving Council's location was found out. In the new home that they had rebuilt for them all, a league of vampires crashed through the home. How did they know? Krarlux had given the info to a head vampire in London, and he along with a crusade of vampires attacked them. They were no match, and when Henry, Matt and Jacinta were killed, Cara unleashed flames that not only erradicated the vampires, but put the surviving individuals in danger. They tried to get out of the house, but it was useless as Marley got trapped under ruble, and burned as Chuck fought to get himself and Cara out of the burning mess. They had one the fight, but lost each other as Cara watched her mother, her boyfriend and her friends burn in the remnants of the house. After this, Chuck became Cara's guardian and knew that they had to rebuild, reastablish and recruit new allies. So with connections to a Watcher in Midnight Harbor, Cara and Chuck went back to America and set up home in the small place. Cara has been there for a day, but will she rise in this little town, or will the darkness inside her decimate. ___________________________________________ Check Jericho! CHARLIE. 18. FAIR FEW |
