S T R E N G T H S + I Can See It In Your Eyes -- Avery is very intuitive, almost always being able to spot something out of the ordinary or something that may be a bit off. Even as observant as he may be, Avery is not the type of person to pry. Your business is your own business. He may mention any intuitions he may feel, but he knows when to back off. At least back off for a while anyway. But that intrigue is always there. + Love Me Nots -- When he would actually let people get close to him, a lot of people knew Avery as the perfect boyfriend. He knew exactly what to say and do to make any girl want to be with him. He knew exactly how to treat the woman he was with which was something that high school guys don't usually care about. Even though he keeps himself away from possible relationships now that he has been bitten, those morals and beliefs will never change nor will they go away. He is a romantic at heart. + Deep Breaths -- Avery has always been able to handle many different types of circumstances. He just has a way of staying in control of his surroundings. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he isn't in control when the full moon plagues the night, so he is trying to make up for that elsewhere while in human form. Either way, he is not the type to become hysterical if the school was on lock down and some big bad was inside. He knows how to access the situation and figure out the best course of action. Or maybe just leave that to the heroes. Maybe his job is just to try and calm everyone else down. + Smarty Pants Galore -- Avery has always been intelligent. You wouldn't have expected it from him at all when he actually had a social life. The people he hung out with weren't all that great. They were the jocks and the will be dropouts. Hell, he was even a jock himself, star swim team captain all throughout high school. But that was because Avery had no problem mingling with different types of people, and he never believed that saying that "you are who you hang out with". With a GPA of 3.993, it will be no surprise at all for this senior to get into any college of his choice. + The Moonlight Saga -- While Avery is a regrular human for most of any given month, three nights out of the month he turns into something malicious, something ravenous, a killer. Avery is a werewolf who, when transformed, has enhanced senses, and superhuman speed and strength. Unlike most werewolves, he does have control of himself on these nights, or has found a way to somewhat protect people from what he has become. He locks himself up in his basement, praying that the wolf does't get too angry and bash its way out into the night. While in human form, he has the ability to sense other werewolves as well. + Handy Dandy Avery -- Your computer running slower than usual? Got a squeaky door hinge? Car wont start? Avery is the guy to call. Avery has always had the easiest time fixing things. He works well under pressure and seems to be able to make anything work again. If you give him enough time, he can figure something out rather quickly. W E A K N E S S E S + Hiding From The World -- Ever since Avery was bitten, things have changed for him drastically. He quit the swim team. Just completely dropped out of it without any warning to his teammates about finding a replacement before the championship. He stopped going to all of the after school activities he was so accustomed to being a part of. No more Math and Science Society. No more student government meetings. No more fundraising for senior events. No more school sports games or dances. No more social life what so ever. Avery has shut himself out from the world, and in his eyes, it was all with good reason. The last thing he wants is to hurt the people he cares about. His old friends, his old girlfriends. new people he may meet? So, he goes to school, sits through his classes, goes to work, does homework, and goes to bed. His life in a nutshell. Boring and lonely as ever, but this is what Avery believes is the best way to keep everyone safe. + Clipped Family Ties -- Avery had always been very close with both of his parents until he was bitten. It wasn't hard to find out for them. Truth be told, Avery had an uncle Conner that was a werewolf as well. And just like that uncle Conner, neither of his parents wanted anything to do with that. They were scared, and had no clue how to handle it. So, they called up Conner for the first time in a really long time and told him about Avery's "issue". Avery's parents moved out of the house, put Avery's name on it, and left Avery with Conner to deal with. It was the best way for them to approach the situation. Although Avery has gotten used to Conner, he is still not his father or his mother. It kills him to know that his parents just left him, thinking that was the best way to solve the problem. He misses them more than anything. + Don't Give a Fuck -- No one at school understands these crazy changes in the star swim team captain and the once popular guy that everyone grew to love. Many people don't even say anything to him anymore because he carries himself with this "I don't give a fuck" attitude. Not the jerk face attitude, but the attitude where the person doesn't seem to want to attach feeling, emotion, or meaning to anything anymore. So, to his old friends, there is no point in even trying with him. In Avery's perspective, this is the best way to get people to leave him alone and stay away from him. To make them think that he has no care in the world for any of them. + Intrigue Killed the Cat -- Despite Avery not wanting to get close to people, he has a serious problem with stepping away from something that interests him. He is very curious about things sometimes. The intuition adds to this of course. He has a sense of certain things that he probably shouldn't, and then he immediately wants to know more about them. Delve deeper into understanding them. For instance, his werewolf. He hates it with a passion, but at the same time, he wants to know more about it. His uncle has helped him in that respect somewhat, but there has to be someone out there just like him dealing with the same thing he is going through. He wants more than anything to find those people. Maybe there is someone out there that can help him get rid of this curse. + Ashes of Death -- Although Avery has no knowledge of this, mountain ash is a powerful weakness to a werewolf. It is creates by witches to ward off werewolves who may become a problem. It is a plant that when ingested by a werewolf can make them deathly sick and when touched by a werewolf can cause an excruciating burn. L I K E S + smiling and laughing + when he actually had girlfriends, cuddling + fixing things to keep him busy, intellectual challenges + swimming and outdoorsy activities, sports + conner because his uncle is all he has now D I S L I K E S + werewolves + his mom and dad for leaving him when he needed them the most + that he can't have his old life back with his friends and his reputation + mind games + the disrespect that men give women sometimes H I S T O R Y Avery Warren Michaels was born to Jackson and Layla Michaels, both a part of one of the wealthiest families in Midnight Harbour. Because of this, as he got older, there was an immediate label that was attached to Avery, a reputation if you will. People are drawn to money. Everyone wanted to know him. Everyone wanted to hang out with him. Everyone wanted to be friends with him. Of course, with the reputation of money comes the reputation of being a complete ass hole and manwhore. For Avery, this was not at all the case. There were quite a few jocks in school that were these types. The types that were judgmental, used their wealth to their advantage, were greedy and selfish, cocky and rude. But Avery was that real popular guy. The one that people genuinely wanted to be like, not just because of his richness, but because of his compassion and kindness for others. A lot of jocks hated him for it, but a lot of jocks just followed whatever made them look good. Avery became popular in no time. He was the swim team captain, was a part of multiple clubs and committees at his high school, was friends with all types of people (bringing people who normally wouldn't be at all in the limeline, into it), had a few important girlfriends here and there. He had everything. He was doing well in school. Everything was perfect for Avery. That is until the bite. After a swim tournament win, Avery was invited to a celebration party event at one of the teammate's houses, a teammate that wanted more than ever to have Avery's spot on the team. He had always been jealous of Avery and had been for a while trying to build up his reputation among the other guys on the team. Once Avery got there, there were some things that were going on that he didn't at all agree with. Some of the guys decided it would be extremely cool to start passing out drinks that were spiked to girls just to see what happened to them and how far they could take it with them as the night progressed. A few of the teammates wanted Avery to join in, and of course Avery had an issue with all of it. This caused a huge fight with the guy who had been jealous of Avery, the ringleader of this crazed party, and Avery himself. It got heated, and Avery's team turned on him in an instant, choosing to side with the "cool" guy over the one who was trying to ruin the night apparently. Avery was kicked out immediately, a little drunk, pissed off, and still worried about what would happen at the party. But before Avery could even try to get back in, he was attacked and bitten by what looked to him to be a hairy dog on two legs. Luckily, Avery was able to get away with just the right amount of flailing. Kicking and punching where ever he could. Avery ran. What Avery didn't realize was that that bite would change him forever. A few nights after the attack, Avery experienced his first full moon. He had changed into something wild and dangerous. To this day, he still has no idea what happened that night. He had woken up the next morning in his backyard with blood smeared across his face and his torso and his parents staring down at him, shaking their heads, his dad saying "not him too" and his mom adding "he had so much potential". The whole situation was a bit of a shock for Avery. According to his parents, he was a werewolf, a monster that needed to be tamed, and his parents knew all about it. This is when Avery found out that his uncle Conner, who he had never met before was also a werewolf who knew how to deal with his problem. His parents wanted nothing to do with him anymore. They signed over the house to Avery, had Conner move in with him, and were off to a home they had in Michigan. It was ridiculous! They had completely just dropped him like he wasn't even important to him. Avery stopped going to swim practices, stopped going to after school clubs and committees, even started skipping a few classes here and there until Conner helped him get his life back on track. Conner taught him all he really knew about what Avery had become. He didn't know much, but he knew enough to get Avery to understand that he needed to separate himself from the world now. It was what was safe. It has been 6 months since he has been turned and he is still adjusting. Avery is now known at school as the "hasbeen". He isolates himself from everyone except his uncle really and people that he needs to be around. It took him a while to get his mind back on school, but he did it. He has no friends anymore. The friends that he did have don't even approach him. Too them, this change occurred because of the party, where the guy that had been jealous of Avery for such a long time finally overpowered him in front of the entire population of jocks at Midnight Harbour. And as ridiculous is that sounds to Avery, he is thankful that people don't know the actual truth of the situation. ___________________________________________ It was a horrible situation, the heroin. When the high or the withdrawals hit, they hit hard like an angry virus latching onto a host taking over his entire body. The only thing was, Matt knew exactly what he was doing. He always did. He knew the horrible things he would say to people. He knew the horrible things he would do to people. He was like a backseat driver to his own actions. Part of Matt wanted to just give in to the virus and allow it to say and do these horrible things which ended up happening every single time, while the other part of him watched only debating if he wanted to be strong enough to come out and face the virus. It was a vicious cycle that continued to happen over and over again and impact person after person in his life. And at this moment, Lily was taking the brute of that virus. Part of Matt wanted her to just walk away and let him deal with this on his own so he didn’t hurt her, but the other part of him wanted her to stay just so he had someone to scream at to make himself feel better about the situation that he had caused for himself. Matt clenched his fists when she told him that they needed to make sure he wasn’t bleeding internally. She wasn’t forcing him to go to the hospital, but it sure sounded like she was telling him what to do, which was something that Matt was not okay with. He was sick of people telling him what to do. Matt you need to calm down. Matt you need to take care of yourself. Matt you need to stop with the heroin. Matt you need to take responsibility for the mess you have made of your life. It was all just too much to hear all the time, and he just wanted it all to go away. Matt moved passed Lily making his way to one of the tattoo stations. His mind was a complete battlefield. He was so angry, and he wanted to unleash it all, but he was fighting to keep control for Lily’s sack. His nausea was kicking in full force, and he hoped his insides wouldn’t spew out just in case he was bleeding internally. Matt leaned on the counter and closed his eyes taking deep but slow breaths. He could still hear Lily explaining herself to him, assuring him that she called Elliot and Val for all the right reasons. There was so much going on in his head, he just wanted it all to stop. He had to think of something on his own. Think of how he could fix this. How he could get out of this situation. Matt could feel Lily’s hand resting on his arm now. He tensed jerking his arm away from her instinctively. He didn’t want her to touch him. Not right now. Not like this. He was a mess. He knew that. He was on the brink of blowing up. Part of him hoped Elliot would show up soon because he wasn’t sure if he could stop himself….if he even wanted to stop himself from the anger that was slowly taking over. ”And then what, Lily?! I go to the hospital, and they keep me overnight to run tests! What’s the first thing you think they will find, hmm?” Matt stepped towards her gripping both of her upper arms tightly. ”Come on, Lily! What will they find!” He screamed at her his eyes staring into hers. She was afraid. He could see it, and what he was doing was only going to make it worse. He needed to calm down. mooshi. twenty-three. 7 i think. |
