He sprinted down the cemetery, looking back to see that the vampire was still on his trail. He breathed heavily, continually yelling "dammit!" in his head at the situation he had put himself in. He thought it would be a good idea to pay a midnight visit to the cemetery after the revelation of him being a vampire slayer, by Janelle's watcher. And Janelle was a vampire slayer as well, and he was still grasping the idea that he was one himself. How was all this even happening? He figured out he wasn't normal, especially when he was attacked by vampires and on the brink of death before finding an escape out of there. And he figured he wasn't because suddenly he was experiencing a boost in his stamina and strength when he unintentionally broke a doorknob in the house, which his father was kind enough to fix after scolding him on how the hell that happened, which was difficult to explain his way out of. He just wasn't the type to follow orders or take direction well, and he needed to play things out first-hand for himself. He understood why there were watchers, but technically he wasn't the slayer belonging to that watcher, so he didn't really have to listen anyway.
He played football, he knew he could run all day, but how about these guys? Sure, they were vampires, being supernaturally empowered and all. But still, it wasn't like they were used to running naturally. They didn't usually chase their prey did they, they usually just snuck up on them and made a move then and there didn't they? Maybe it would've been the smart thing to ask more questions about vampires and be more prepared for what was to come. Hell, even throw in a few watcher-slayer training exercises to make sure he was really battle ready for this. But that was the normal thing to do, the Phoenix thing to do was be all young, stupid and reckless and take matters into his own hands and likely get himself killed. He saw an opening for escape up ahead, however stopped in his tracks as another vampire emerged from a grave and begun stalking its way towards him. Should he still be calling it a "he" or was "it" the appropriate word for this being now? Maybe he could've asked that to if he wasn't reckless enough to do his own thing! Well there would be time for these additional questions later, if he managed not to get himself killed tonight.
He looked around as the two vampires surrounded him, and he inhaled nervously. Well, he was pretty much screwed now. He was outnumbered, Phoenix: one, vampires: two. Which again meant, he was screwed! He sighed as he once again scanned the two vampires approaching him. "Truce? You know, I was just curious as to how fast you guys could run, I didn't mean any harm...Truce?" Argh, what had he gotten himself into. Now was that time when it would be very beneficial for someone to fly in and rescue him. What were the chances of that happening? Who just "flew in" to rescue someone, least of all him? One of the vampires charged towards him as if about to behead some roman soldier in a war, and he panicked and ducked, the vampire flying over the top of him. He nervously pulled out his stake, shocked that the vampire was on the ground, but quickly recovering. Oh no, he was once again, still screwed! The other vampire went to grab him, but he instinctively blocked the vampire's grip and kicked him in the chest, resulting in the vampire stumbling back. Woo hoo! And Phoenix has the ball and is running with it! Well, maybe not a ball, but a kick to the gut of a vampire was close enough, right? He decided to be proactive and went towards one of the vampires, lunging the stake towards its heart and stabbing it, before realizing that was the vampire's right side. Dammit, why didn't he take on anatomy! How stupid could he get, seriously? The vampire was angry and pulled the stake out and tossed it to the ground. Now he was a slayer without a weapon, that was helpful! The vampire lunged towards him and he grabbed the vampire, falling backwards as he tossed the vampire over him. He quickly ran over and picked up the stake, but the other vampire gripped him and pulled him to the ground, the stake sent straight into the vampire's heart on impact!"Awesome!" He stated, feeling proud of his work. Maybe he wasn't going to die tonight after all! But then he realized he had vampire remains over him and begun coughing, quickly getting back to his feet and brushing himself down. He looked on at the other vampire, who looked nervous and took off. He laughed confidently. "Yeah, you run away! I would've taken you, too! Tell everyone the slayer is in town, and he is kicking asses and taking names!" He smirked, before putting the stake back into his jacket and walking down the cemetery. Maybe it was time to call it a night?
