Dumping his backpack down onto one of the benches in the locker room, he inhaled softly as he eyed around curiously at the locker room which would probably soon be full of all of the team ready for him to be a leader. Right about now, this captaincy position was the only thing that he really truly believed in and knew that it was right. Hell, it was probably the only normal thing going for him in his life at the moment with all the shit that had come to pass in this last week. He knew he was different, he had known for a while, but this different? He was like bloody superman or something! He was stronger, faster, had reflxes of a cat. Oh, and the nightmares. He wasn't even sure if the nightmares were related to this whole thing, but then it would be pretty damn coincidental that nightmares of vampiric beings and blood and guts come to surface when he gets killed by a crew of vampires after drowning in a lake. Thank Christ he had friends. Wasn't that just what friends were for, anyway? To pull their fellow friend's dead ass out of a lake and resuscitate them? Well maybe not usually, but nothing was out of the ordinary anymore. It was hard to tell what was ordinary.
He flicked through his phone, his eyes scanning the messages but none were of any importance right now. A text from Kyra about missing him, how sweet. A few from some other friends about the game, but nothing which was really going to take his focus off of what was going through his head right now. He did need to figure things out, but unfortunately for him, he was not able to do so right now. And it wasn't like he could ask for a pass for having something better to do, oh how Ethan would love ripping through that excuse and using it as a way of ripping his credibility for this position. He had worked hard for this place, and he wasn't going to let it go because of some asshole who didn't know what was good for him, or because some vampires had killed him and ruined everything. If he wanted to, he could probably just snap Ethan's throat today. He was probably strong enough to do that kind of thing now. But then he would be stripped of this position, expelled, arrested and probably kicked out of home, as well as losing all of his friends. Not the best situation for someone not worthy of his time.
He begun scrounging through his bag, then noticing the bruise just underneath his elbow. He got up and looked in the mirror, and he sighed as he saw again the bruise just under his eyelid. It wasn't a good look, but it seemed like he was healing faster than regular. He had never healed quite this fast before, and luckily for him he was healing faster to avoid all the questions. Unluckily for him it wasn't fast enough, as they were still visible enough to warrant such questions. He really didn't care what people thought of him, it was just this whole situation and what he would say and what he was supposed to say in response to these bruises over his body. He had already got lectured from the coach about not getting involved in bad behaviour. Though, couldn't exactly use the excuse of being attacked by raging vampires. Might not have gone down too well, and probably would have warranted him a trip to the loony bay that they call course counselling.
