He looked on as Janelle asked, rather rhetorically, that vampires had attacked him. He looked on, nodding softly. She was bound to ask questions, he was asking questions as even he didn't understand what the hell was happening or who he was and what these enhanced powers meant. He put his hands in his pockets, looking around at the people who were doing their own thing, feeling comfortable talking about it now. "Yeah, I was meeting up with my mate, but before I met up with him, I was just attacked in one of the streets, for no apparent reason. I just defended myself, and was surprised at how well I was doing and how my strength just seemed to improve, and my reflexes...I just couldn't explain it, but I didn't complain and managed to get an opening and get away from them, hiding in a place where lots of people where to blend in. Just assumed they wouldn't be attacking me in front of all those people, right?" He questioned, knowing the answer but asking anyway. He continued looking back around at the people having fun and living a normal, uncomplicated life before glancing back towards Janelle. "And yeah, I just assumed it was strange after seeing their faces, I knew what they were, I went to school and read books. But I just assumed it was some random thing, until tonight, when I saw that there were more of them around here. Is this just the beginning?" He asked curiously. He assumed that there was a reason for this and that there were more where these ones come from. It was a scary reality, but at least he had someone to talk to, who seemingly understood it all better than him.
He nodded seriously as he looked on at Janelle as she explained all of the creatures who were real. "Well, with vampires being real and all, nothing else could possibly surprise me. Ghosts are real, though? I've always believed in that stuff, but believe as in I will never know the truth kind of thing. But seriously?" He questioned, another time where he knew the answer. Janelle didn't' look like she was just having a joke or making this stuff up. She was serious, and for some reason, he wasn't scared, he just felt overwhelmed by it all. It was a lot to take in all at once, especially in the span of a few days. He raised his hands up softly, before placing them down back against his legs. "Of course, of all towns around the world, Midnight Harbour is the one with the freaky supernatural occurrences. And here I was thinking captaining the football team and dealing with the jerk co-captain was my biggest problem. These things make Ethan look like a fairy princess. He is a bit, though." He smiled softly, trying to lighten the mood and show Janelle that he wasn't phased by all of this. Well he was, but he wasn't going to show that sign to her right now.
"A slayer...?" He asked, curiously. If he really was as alike to Janelle as they both thought, was he one as well? It would make sense, him having all these additional powers all of a sudden and stuff. But he didn't really know what a slayer was. Apparently, they were chosen to fight against these vampires. Well, this was getting better and better. Here he was thinking he was just some dude with powers, but no purpose. Oh well. "And where would I find one of these stakes? Doesn't seem like something you just pick up from your everyday shop, especially one as nicely sharpened as the one you used to kill that vampire." Maybe he would need one to defend himself. And here he was, never in a million years expecting to be relying on a piece of wood to protect himself. Some people might wonder if he was a little cray cray.
He shrugged softly at her question. "To be honest, I think I wanna keep my distance from anything wooden for the time being...Don't wanna attract anymore unwanted houseguests." He smirked innocently, looking back towards Janelle. It was kind of exciting, in a weird, you slay vampires kind of way. Just having the power to make a difference and all. "And I've got my car here, we can take that if you want? I'd feel weird you walking me home and all. Call me old fashioned, but a lady should always be taken home by the man. You could probably beat me up, but still, I would rather you be safe." He smiled gently at her. Somehow, in some strange way, he was feeling closer to her.
